There are still a lot of features web hosts give you but if you are a new webmaster then most any host will have the features you need. If you are experienced webmaster you already know what you need. The last thing you should focus on is the customer support, especially as a new webmaster. Try contacting them by phone and see how long it takes for them to get to you. You don't need to have a question, just tell them you are trying to pick a web hosting company and you were testing to see how good their support was. If the host has a chat feature, try that also. In other words, try out the host and see if you feel comfortable with them.
